The Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment has been working collaboratively with the National Park Service,
EPA Region 8 and numerous stakeholders to address the deleterious impacts
of nitrogen deposition in Rocky Mountain National Park. As a result, a
plan to reduce nitrogen deposition has been developed and endorsed by
the three agencies and will be implemented to achieve resource management
goals over a 25 year period. The presentation will summarize the plan
and the action measures and provide and overview of how sound science
was incorporated into the administrative process.
