New science and policy developments within the
last year have brought about significant change in EPA’s work on
the climate change issue. The Collective actions of the legislative, judicial,
and executive branches have prompted EPA to analyze the benefits of different
climate response strategies. EPA’s Climate Change Division (CCD)
is providing technical support for these activities, utilizing salient
findings from newly released scientific assessments from the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the U.S. Climate Change Science Program
(CCSP). This presentation will summarize the current state of affairs,
describe CCD’s role in supporting climate policy at the EPA and
possible future directions.
